Inflammatix  is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II (RA) to contribute to assay development activities supporting microfluidic test system development. We are building instrumentation, consumables, and assays for HostDx tests that will rely on RNA extraction and nucleic acid amplification technologies, and the RA´s will perform tasks to optimize these capabilities.

The primary focus will be sample preparation/nucleic acid purification and the generation of gene expression data using isothermal amplification or other technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in early-stage development of a growing biotech company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design, planning, and execution of experiments for the development and validation of new molecular assays.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize assay conditions to improve performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with senior scientists and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Present research findings, project updates, and technical information to internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in molecular biology and related fields to incorporate innovative approaches into assay development.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the assay development projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 0-2 years of industry experience, or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, nucleic acid isolation, and other related methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of senior leaders and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with assay development and optimization is a plus but not required.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough working knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques including PCR/qPCR and nucleic acid isolation/purification
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocol
  • Experience with handling clinical samples under BSL2 conditions a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Follows good lab documentation practices
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; capable of prioritizing and executing on multiple projects

COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION:

  • The base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $ 85,000 per year which represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this exempt position.
    • Please note that actual offer will vary based on factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors including internal equity. As such, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the lower or upper end of the range. Please also note the compensation range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package.  A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
