About the role:

Join the Machine Learning Foundations team at Inari and work on using data and ML to accelerate discovery, improve product design and optimize operations. We are looking for someone with strong core ML skills and a track record of experience in designing and building ML solutions deployed into production. You will work with cross-functional teams across Inari on strategic research and product projects to enhance our ability to create better seeds faster, for people and the planet. Areas of expertise NLP, transformers, computer vision, ML for life sciences. This role will be based in Cambridge MA

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with the Chief Data Officer on Machine Learning strategy and evaluation of impact of different approaches and user stories for applying ML to Inari’s discovery research and product development.
  • Evaluate the data available and participate in cross-functional teams to determine gaps and method to generate, simulate, or perform wet lab simulation to proceed.
  • Prototype, train and validate machine learning and statistical models with scientists and applied ML engineers across Inari from prototyping to production to tackle different problems in creating better seeds faster, using a variety of techniques.
  • Evaluate, determine and design the algorithms and models to address the problem at hand and given relevant constraints such as latency, training time, data availability and quality.
  • Mentor junior data scientists
  • Work across Inari teams to advance the state and quality of ML across multiple projects.
  • Effectively utilize relevant public and proprietary databases to develop ML models for strategic projects.
  • Keep up to date with the latest in ML research in order to proactively identify, assess, and internalize promising methods and tools
