About the Role…

We are looking for a strategic Director, Information Technology to join our team in Cambridge, MA, to join our team at Inari. Inari is a late-stage biotech startup on a mission to transform the food system and create a more sustainable future. We are using predictive design and advanced multiplex gene editing to unlock the full potential of seeds. Inari has been named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

In this role, you will be responsible for Inari’s IT strategy, planning and execution of all IT functions and systems across the company as we grow. You will lead a group of dedicated professionals providing IT services and support to a global company. A key element of this role will be striking the right balance between the strategic and hands-on elements of the role, taking Inari to scale.

The right candidate will have proven experience building scalable IT processes and effective partnering relationships with all levels of the business while maintaining quality service in support of our values as the organization grows.

As a Director of Information Technology, you will… 

  • Lead and grow the IS&T team, which includes recruiting, training, developing and keeping the team highly motivated and engaged 
  • Manage business & lab systems, including IT services, employee devices, infrastructure, projects, and partner relationships
  • Lead the vision, strategy and execution of the technical platforms and security roadmap & rollout as the company scales
  • Direct and establish IT-related projects, running a strong project management office function
  • Manage the deployment, administration, monitoring and maintenance of all IT systems, networking, and current projects. Manage IT budget and external vendors  
  • Ensure IT processes are effectively designed and built for scale. All processes are effectively documented and monitored
  • Ensure the maintenance of current projects and technology systems; Propose strategic solutions and recommend new systems and software
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers

You Bring… 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of relevant experience working in the IT field; 7+ years leading and managing in a progressive team environment
  • Demonstrated success building scalable processes within a high growth environment 
  • Strong technical skills with knowledge of a wide variety of tools and technologies such as end computing systems, identity management, SAAS applications, meeting room technology, etc. 
  • Preferred experience in a biotech setting establishing business systems requirements, roadmaps, implementation & operations, including lab data, networking and device management, e.g., LIMS, ELN systems, informatics systems
  • Experience and strong understanding of cloud computing, networking and information security. Ability to assess needs relating to hardware, software, SAAS and Helpdesk.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to manage deployment and maintenance of IT projects across the organization 
  • High sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently 
  • Ideal candidates have working knowledge of OKTA, JAMF, VMWare Workspace One, SOPHOS Endpoint Management, LIMS, ELNs, AWS
