Team Overview:

We're growing the size of our team and seeking a talented Manager to apply their love of testing to supporting our RFID Solutions and Reader platform. Readers are the devices which allow us to wirelessly connect billions of items to the internet. Solutions are a combination software(on prem and cloud), readers and tags than allow use to solve real world complex problems using RFID.

At Impinj testing isn't just manually running some test over and over or writing tons of unit tests. We want our SDET to be well versed in a variety of test approaches, methodologies, and strategies. These tests not only identify whether we're delivering on customer requirements, but also inform whether we've broken scenarios. Testing doesn't just end at functional validation, you should also be able to develop security, performance, or other types of tests as needed. Our vision is to build end-to-end sustainable/repeatable tests, and a development culture where test is seen as an integrated part of the development process.

What you will do:

  • Manage a test team and expand test focus to for full end-to-end testing focus on solving customers problems.
  • You'll develop sustainable test infrastructure including building automated test frameworks from scratch.
  • You will craft test plans to cover all aspects of software; functional validation, security, and performance improvements.
  • Help build a culture that embraces testing as an integral component of the design and development cycle, not just a process tacked on at the end. We want engineers who can help influence the functionality of our products.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

  • Proficient in Python and an understanding of C/C++
  • You're the sort of engineer who enjoys learning and working in new languages. We want well-rounded athletes, not position players.
  • You love working with multiple internal customers and a willingness to have open conversations about the design of the product. You should be comfortable bridging the gap between product owners and developers. It will also help if you have experience working in scrum teams.
  • You are able to communicate effectively at both the project and issue level in a professional and constructive manner to regularly meet project testing goals/deadlines
  • Experience executing the full software development release cycles and showing improvement
  • You will be mentoring testers and growing the teams responsibilities.
  • An interest in Internet of Things, RAIN RFID, communications/RF engineering, or embedded/firmware engineering.

Compensation and Benefits:

The typical base pay range for this role is $141,000 - 218,000. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of the role, job duties, requirements and relevant experience and skills. Impinj reviews market wage data and uses the midpoint of the pay range as the starting point for offers. Impinj makes offers within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonuses and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
