Your Impact:

This is a unique leadership role within Illumio Engineering! In this role, the successful candidate will lead significant product development and delivery efforts for a new Cloud product, across the full breadth of the tech stack from Platform & DevOps to Back-End systems and the UI development.

  • You will deliver our roadmap for the new Kubernetes solution for CloudSecure and OnPrem product, as part of the Illumio Zero Trust platform.

  • You will be responsible for the growth and development of the top-notch team that delivers this capability, partnering with senior technical leads to achieve this.

  • You will need to understand all aspects of the product and technology, so you can work with people across engineering, product management and other functions to make decisions critical to features and releases.

  • You will be responsible for defining and driving a rapid development, release, measurement, and iteration process needed to advance a new product and to get to feature completeness and quality.

  • You will need to be decisive in the face of ambiguity, balance business concerns with release deadlines and be accountable for delivering on-time releases.

  • You will be part of the technical leadership community at Illumio that plays a critical role in product planning and innovation, working closely with senior executives to develop business milestones and resource requirements, influence our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire a talented team of engineers and ultimately enable us to deliver innovative new products that drive our market leadership position.

  • You will be leading distributed team of local US team members and a remote team.

Your Toolkit:

  • BS Computer Science or equivalent

  • 10 years’ experience planning, designing, developing and delivering software

  • 6 years’ experience as a People Manager in a software development organization having managed a range of experience; from new grads to highly experienced developers

  • Must have experience in building Cloud and Kubernetes based product. Bonus if you have experience in the Cloud Security space

  • Must have an understanding of the design of good user interfaces and visualization of complex systems, delivering simple to use products

  • Must have a successful track record of leadership of an engineering organization, hiring, enabling and empowering high-performing teams

  • Hands-on experience having managed people and process for agile development, with a preference for scrum

  • Must have significant technical experience in delivering applications based on distributed systems. Should have worked with RESTful web services, high-scale SaaS applications, Kubernetes, and public clouds. Has taken software products from inception to customer delivery

  • Good Understanding of Kubernetes, CNI, K8s policy, Istio

  • Solid understanding and experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, testing automation and production telemetry

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand and present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

Compensation:

$ 229,000 - $ 275,000 USD

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
