The Role:

As a Team Lead, Tax Advisor, you play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory and preparation services while providing supervision to a team of tax preparers. You are a part of a growing and evolving division, where you help shape processes and contribute to building from the ground up. You directly support clients—reviewing tax returns, offering strategic tax advice, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, you provide mentorship, training, and quality control oversight to maintain accuracy and efficiency within the team. Your expertise ensures on-time and accurate return filings and tax advisory services.

What You Do Each Day

  • Serve as a resource for team members, ensuring consistency and accuracy in tax filings
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of trust and satisfaction in tax advisory services
  • Prepare, review, and finalize tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Provide direct tax advisory support to clients, answering questions and offering strategic tax-saving recommendations
  • Oversee tax return preparation to maintain consistency, accuracy, and adherence to tax regulations
  • Supervise and support a team of tax preparers, providing guidance on complex tax matters and best practices
  • Assist in refining and implementing efficient workflows to streamline tax preparation and filing processes
  • Stay informed on tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to both clients and the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to align operational strategies with business objectives 
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to scalable solutions for efficiency gains

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license or EA designation requiredCPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required
  • 3+ years of experience in tax advisory, including client-facing engagements
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other tax professionals preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (i.e. Intuit ProConnect, Drake, UltraTax) 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Location Dependent Information

This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is $64,000-$80,000 The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
