Housecall Pro is a fintech company founded in 2013. We built a SaaS platform that helps Home Service Professionals operate their businesses. We created the application for plumbers, electricians, and other Pros in the home improvement/trades industries.

As a Senior Devops Release Engineer  you play a critical role in supporting the Engineering organization’s ability to deliver business value quickly, safely, and reliably. You bring solid experience in Release Engineering, with a particular emphasis on SDLC, GitLab and CI/CD processes. You’re known for being quick to learn, detail-oriented, and highly proficient at tackling technical challenges in fast-paced environments. With strong communication skills, you can convey complex technical concepts simply and effectively. Your resilience under pressure and collaborative approach make you a trusted partner across teams.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work flexibly and autonomously, with creative freedom and ownership over your contributions. You’ll address challenges presented by growing and complex pipelines, applying problem-solving skills with tenacity and a keen eye for detail. In your daily routine, you will: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain our SDLC and end-to-end DevOps pipelines using GitLab, optimizing CI/CD processes to streamline software builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams (development, testing, and operations) to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Lead CI/CD practices for application and data pipelines, establishing best practices and standards with a focus on GitLab-based automation.
  • Monitor and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages like Python, Ruby, or Golang to enhance process efficiency and reliability.
  • Operate and maintain our CICD Platform by ensuring the stability of our Gitlab service and performing routine version upgrades and maintenance.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure deployments and ensure consistency.
  • Cloud Platform Management:
    • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to ensure cost-effectiveness and scalability.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
    • Implement robust monitoring solutions for applications, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and data processing to maintain a stable environment.

We think that this offer is for you if you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering program, or equivalent work experience
  • ✅ 4+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or delivery engineering roles, with a proven track record in SDLC & CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience with GitLab as the primary CI/CD platform, along with strong proficiency in other CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, CircleCI).
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, and/or Golang.
  • Proficiency with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • Ability to work PST Schedule (1:00pm to 10:00pm GMT-3)
