Job Summary

Planful is looking for a Solutions Architect with a strong passion to work with Planful customers and help them during their implementation.  Reporting to the Director of Delivery Services, you will work on implementation projects, working closely with customers. The successful candidate must work well in a team environment while being a resourceful, independent self-starter able to work effectively with minimal direction.  You will be the functional lead on our implementation projects, assuming responsibility for the customer specific application design and providing oversight to the team during the application configuration, testing, knowledge transfer and rollout activities. Candidate must have the ability to travel at least 35% of the time.

Job Description

  • Manage multiple concurrent customer implementations:
  • Function as the project functional/technical lead and lead a team of consultants and customer staff in the delivery of a value added solution to the customer.
  • Function as a mentor to the Planful Professional Services delivery team for solutioning best practice of large, complex projects to account for overarching Planful architecture, performance and scalability, and change management impacts.
  • Follow Planful’s Agile Deployment Approach to lead discovery workshops, prototype and validate solutions with our customers to develop a solid solution supporting customer requirements.  
  • Proven architecture experience in defining, designing and implementing integrated architectures for complex planning, reporting and analytic solutions.
  • Deep experience as a solution architect in the Finance functional vertical.  2-3 other functional competencies are a plus (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Distribution, Professional Services)
  • Working knowledge of process architecture to know how to design technology/data architectures to support ‘to-be’ process designs
  • Change management experience to support the deployment and adoption activities of solutions.
  • Be cognizant of project economics and metrics to deliver on-time and on budget projects.
  • Be a trusted adviser and subject matter expert to customers in areas such as change management, business process design and redesign, process improvements and analytics.
  • Work with Planful’s Sales team to sell success, share customer use cases at customer meetings, selling services, leading scoping discussions and developing/presenting services proposals
  • Lean on a strong accounting and or finance background as well as experience implementing and managing planning and consolidation applications.
  • Learn the Planful product and deployment best practice. 
  • Contribute to and improve the Services team’s best practice methodology and library.

Skills and Experience

  • Located in Pacific or Mountain Time Zone 
  • 3-5 years of Accounting or FP&A experience focusing on financial reporting and budgeting and /or close management as well as experience dealing with multi-currency environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with financial planning, close management, reporting and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • Experience with enterprise planning systems or financial management applications is desired.
  • Executive presence to interact with senior-level executives.
  • Customer-centric with a strong sense of urgency for customer care. 
  • Consultative style.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving skills and analytical skills. 
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior consulting experience; experience at an EPM software company or EPM partner consulting organization is a huge plus
  • Working with startup SaaS companies is a plus.
