About the team

HashiCorp is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager with a strong background in cloud platform and a demonstrated history with compliance work, with PCI knowledge as a bonus. The selected candidate will also impact product and customer success through personal accountability, a demonstrated track record of success, subject matter expertise, and great interpersonal relationships. 

As part of the R&D Operations team, you'll improve and execute on the operations of the R&D organization, including Hashicorp Cloud Platform and/or Internal Platform. You will urgently drive complex programs and initiatives requiring close cross-functional collaboration across multiple disciplines and products, in a fast paced environment.

You will be responsible for bringing alignment and meaningful collaboration across engineering, product, design, security, GRC, marketing, pricing, and other cross-functional partners. You should have a strong appreciation for scaling up processes, thrive in a dynamic environment, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Our R&D team, as well as the other cross-functional teams you'll work with, are almost entirely remote. While prior experience working remotely isn't required, we are looking for team members who perform well given a high level of independence within an evolving working model. Excellent systems thinking, collaboration, communication, and team-building skills are required to collaborate effectively with organizational leaders in other functions. 

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Drive outcomes, not outputs. Your background and experience will help define and implement an end to end telemetry solution quickly and efficiently
  • Lead coordination for cross-product programs to ensure that the overall program is accounted for (end result, milestones, dependencies, and more)
  • Work closely with leadership to drive the execution of strategic initiatives, such as telemetry, by proactively identifying risks & obstacles along with mitigation plans
  • Manage the collaboration between engineering, product, design, and non-R&D functions by identifying priorities, defining cross-functional milestones, and delivering to plans
  • Create and maintain program pages inline with the standard R&D Ops template 
  • Own systems for project documentation, status tracking, portfolios, data dashboards and communication between project stakeholders to ensure overall program health
  • Establish, drive and continuously improve standards for processes that promote a high standard for product delivery and efficiency of teams
  • Contribute to an environment that's conducive to a great execution culture and removes obstacles to project completion
  • Work closely with leadership and operational teams on priority and productivity process improvements that aid in delivering value faster with greater accuracy and confidence
     

What you’ll need (basic qualifications)

  • Has worked within a cloud platform organization
  • Experience in an R&D program management role driving projects through full product life cycle
  • Knowledge of distributed software architecture and cloud technologies
  • Proven ability to creatively solve complicated problems 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, understanding of the needs of all stakeholders, and a track record of delivering projects

What's nice to have (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience with PCI, compliance, and cloud platform deliverables
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp products
  • Experience in a rapid growth of the organization, working cross-functionally with teamscan delivering enterprise software
  • Strong bias for action and an intrinsic ability to deal with ambiguity

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.

The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$182,800$215,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:
$167,500$197,100 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$152,300$179,200 USD
