The Role
Accounts Payable
Your primary objective will be to oversee and execute accounts payable processes with precision and efficiency. This role involves managing a variety of critical tasks under tight deadlines, requiring you to take ownership of key responsibilities that underpin the Finance function. You will also proactively seek to refine and optimise workflows to enhance efficiency and look, in time, to own and drive the function within the team. The environment is fast-paced, and the team is dynamic, bringing together a diverse range of skills and perspectives.
You’ll play a vital role in safeguarding the firm’s financial health and operational efficiency, ensuring seamless payment operations, and directly supporting our ability to innovate and excel.
Typical day-to-day duties and responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable
- Accurately input and code purchase orders and invoices into the purchase order system, ensuring timely processing to maintain operational efficiency.
- Execute supplier payments with precision, safeguarding the firm’s financial integrity.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, addressing queries promptly to uphold trust and reliability.
- Enforce, maintain, and enhance procurement controls, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with internal procurement teams to streamline processes and achieve shared goals.
- Conduct aged creditor analysis to provide actionable insights into payment cycles.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Process employee expenses with diligence, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Cash Management:
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking.
- Post cash entries into the accounting system with precision, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Monitor cash balances to support informed decision-making and operational readiness.
- Reporting:
- Produce detailed and insightful reports for Management, providing clarity and actionable data on accounts payable and cash management activities.
- Ad Hoc Work:
- Collaborate with and support other team members, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the Finance team.

The Skills
- Prior experience within an accounting or finance function preferable, but those with a demonstrable desire to build a career in this area still equally appealing.
- Proficiency in Excel (including macros and pivot tables).
- Demonstrable interest in finance and/or quant trading with a genuine interest in the challenges presented within the industry.
Academic Requirements:
- A good degree in finance or a numerate discipline. Otherwise within an analytical field.
