As a legal counsel based in our Paris office your primary objective is to proactively identify and mitigate all legal risks relating to the real estate development and operations (including related infrastructure, power connection and energy projects) in relation to our data centre and light industrial / logistics development projects and existing assets portfolio.

More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage agreements and provide legal advice in relation to the development of data centre and light industrial / logistics projects as well as the existing assets portfolio, such as:
    • Due diligence and land acquisitions
    • Energy, power and grid connection and use
    • Engineering, project management and architect services
    • Third-party advisory agreements
    • Construction / works contracts and lease agreements
    • Related energy and other innovative projects (PV and energy trading agreements, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, battery…)
  • Involve and manage external law firms in an effective and timely way and at fair cost;
  • Ensure the coordination of claims, legal disputes and/or litigation;
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s policies, standards and assurance processes, support the team on any relevant legal and compliance matters and foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance;
  • Proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities by staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company;
  • Work in close collaboration with the local team, the general counsel, other legal counsels in Continental Europe and the wider European team.

Do you recognize yourself?

  • Master’s degree in law from a French university. Additional degree or LLM is considered a plus;
  • Perfect knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken;
  • Excellent knowledge of contract, construction and energy law as well as town planning and environmental codes;
  • At least 7 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm and in real estate development or construction law for major infrastructure projects;
  • Experience in international projects is an asset;
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work without significant supervision, and independently handle most complex legal matters; 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and in different teams with a strong eye for meeting deadlines;
  • Able to travel and to work under tight time pressure in a fast-changing environment;
