Position Summary:
As part of the Abiologics team, Senior Computational Protein Engineers are responsible for developing the frameworks and models that drive advancements in our drug discovery process. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with expert protein engineers, the software infrastructure team, and members of the experimental team to create new design workflows which immediately impact experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize and develop state of the art computational protein design and machine learning tools to accelerate our drug pipelines
- Collaborate closely with experimental teams to align with their capabilities, enabling the creation of advanced hybrid platforms
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of industry experience in protein engineering
- A history of building protein design pipelines which have experimentally verified outcomes
- Capable of independently planning and executing long-term computational projects with correlated experimental outcomes
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to think independently and contribute to a dynamic intellectual environment
- Familiarity with common software development tools and best practices: Git, cloud/cluster computing, testing frameworks, linters, etc
Preferred Experience
- A history of managing projects in the protein design space with multiple team members
- Familiarity with a wide range of publicly available computational protein design tools
- Experience working on complex scientific problems within a collaborative group setting
