The Assistant Controller will implement internal audit processes; maintain internal controls; manage processing of financial transactions; coordinate tax preparation; and assess GAAP deficiencies, recommend process improvements, and train accounting team accordingly.
Provide accounting and reporting assistance to the Controller;
Maintain internal controls, safeguard assets, and ensure reliability of financial statements and reports;
Identify process deficiencies, recommend improvements compliant with GAAP principles, provide training and support to accounting team in fraud prevention;
Manage processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivables, month-end and year-end closings;
Ensure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, accounts receivables are collected promptly, and bank reconciliations are accurately and regularly completed;
Develop and implement internal audit process;
Provide support to external auditors;
Assist Controller with tax preparation, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, and international accounting regulations; and
Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Strong analytical and auditing skills;
Demonstrable knowledge of GAAP, tax and regulatory requirements;
8+ years accounting experience;
Experience training accounting staff, from assistants through senior accountants;
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and effectively present financial reports;
Excellent organizational skills, proven attention to detail;
Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously, independently, and meet deadlines without comprising quality;
Outstanding Excel skills; experience with accounting software, and ability to quickly learn new software
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; and
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge of FAR/AIDAR regulations
