About the team
The Ads Data & BI team, part of the broader Revenue Ops department, are responsible for turning the FT’s data into tangible value for both the ads business and our customers. Advertising and marketing data is a vast, complex domain, and in recent years we’ve professionalised our capabilities, bringing critical skills in-house to advance our strategy and fully harness the power of the rich first-party data that sets us apart from much of the market.
We now have a unique opportunity for an experienced analyst looking to progress their career. As a Senior Analyst, you will be providing insights that support both our internal business intelligence and decision-making, and the creation of customer value via our sales teams and the solutions they provide to our customers.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of BI developers, reporting analysts, product managers and campaign strategists. You’ll collaborate closely with our innovation and research teams, and play an active role in influencing product, experimentation, data science and analytics teams across the business.
About the Role
Over the next few years we have ambitious targets to grow our commercial revenues in tandem with the FT’s global paying audience. The Commercial department’s analytics team is essential to achieving this, unlocking the insights and intelligence needed to support this. We are looking for someone who has a curiosity for interrogating data, is analytical, collaborative and creative, and understands the value of storytelling with data.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead analytics projects from scoping through to delivery
- Identify and investigate opportunities for value-adding insights
- Partner with business collaborators to deliver data-led decision support
- Influence analytics strategy and storytelling alongside the Head of Advertising Analytics
- Maintain awareness of trends in digital media and analytics
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams including Research, Product, BI, and Experimentation
Required Skills and Experience
- Shown SQL and Excel skills; experience with tools such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI
- Strong analytical and data storytelling capabilities
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and prioritise effectively
Desirable
- Familiarity with R or Python
- Experience crafting and interpreting A/B or multivariate tests
- A keen eye for data quality and attention to detail
