Global AV Events and Production Engineer

Fastly is a leading technology company dedicated to providing a better, faster internet experience. We are seeking an AV (Audio-Visual) Events and Production Engineer to enhance our company event experiences. This role entails overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company's AV system and infrastructure. Candidates should possess strong technical skills and program management skills to develop and enhance our AV program.

Your primary role will involve providing exceptional AV support for company meetings such as all hands and offsites at company sponsored events. You will bring a proactive attitude and a commitment to superior customer service, ensuring seamless AV experiences for all in-person and remote participants. Leveraging your technical expertise, you'll quickly resolve incidents and requests, minimize disruptions and downtime, implement service improvements, and contribute to a stellar end user experience. This role requires a builder, someone who can innovate and improve on our AV experience, helping us scale our AV program with the growth and expansion of Fastly. The success of this role is someone who can develop and maintain a program around our global AV experience and enhance this experience on an ongoing basis. 

What You'll Do:

  • Provide on-site support during company events to ensure seamless operations, including live streaming All Hands, Sales Kickoff, Company Kickoff, Quarter Business Reviews, Executive Summit, etc.
  • Partner with external AV vendors on customer-facing events and be the primary internal liaison
  • Lead the design, installation, and configuration of AV systems throughout our global office footprint
  • Collaborate with our workplace team to build out new offices, augment existing offices and decommission offices where applicable 
  • Develop AV standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and company requirements
  • Create and maintain comprehensive AV documentation, including system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Deliver AV training and documentation to our support team 
  • Maintain Conference room AV systems by conducting regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and reliability, ensure AV equipment and gear are neat and tidy 
  • Evaluate new AV products and technologies and conduct pilot tests to recommend for adoption
  • Provide expert-level support for our internal Communication and Events team, guiding the team on best practices and resolving technical issues promptly
  • Maintain our global AV equipment inventory

What We're Looking For:

Strong Customer Service skills. You are obsessed with elevating the employee’s AV experience. You have a proven track record in innovation, processes and continual improvement. The ideal candidate will use data driven metrics to propose spending on new AV technology. Utilizing metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity through innovation or improvement. The ability to think not only at the local level but also drive improvement on the global scale as well. 

Detail oriented. You have the ability to not only take initiative but your ability to plan and track is second to none. You are able to translate customers’ requirements into an actionable roadmap. Delivering the right things at the right time with competing priorities at times.

Effective communicator. You consult with event organizers to understand and meet their technical requirements. You communicate expectations and provide updates to meeting organizers prior to events. Experience working directly with executives. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Certification in A/V technology
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in AV space
  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience in the design and deployment of integrated AV / VC systems across a wide customer base and across global corporate offices
  • A passion for delivering results and building trust with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience prioritizing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Jira knowledge is a plus)
  • Familiarity with VC platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel both domestic and international as needed to support events

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $123,330.00 to $154,170.00. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
