We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented analyst to support the strategic marketing operations function at DigitalOcean. Supporting the Cloudways Marketing business, you will be an experienced business intelligence analyst with expert-level proficiency in Power BI, adept at conducting thorough data analysis, and developing complex SQL queries. Skilled in creating visually appealing dashboards and reports to drive informed decision-making, you will be a collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A strong communicator, you will be able to translate complex findings into actionable insights, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Having an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset with a “make it happen” approach to tasks will be a strength.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough data analysis to extract insights and drive informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to manipulate and analyze large datasets efficiently.
- Utilize Power BI to create visually appealing and interactive dashboards for data visualization and reporting.
- Evaluate and enhance existing BI systems to meet evolving business needs.
- Interpret data using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports and insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define metrics, and deliver actionable insights.
- Conduct data exploration and visualization to identify key insights and opportunities for growth.
- Identify trends, patterns, and outliers in data to uncover opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
- Utilize statistical tools to analyze complex data sets and identify patterns and trends.
- Analyzing data to uncover insights and provide logical explanations for problems, while identifying and defining new avenues for growth and improvement opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations and come up with tactical and strategic initiatives to meet departmental objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in predictive analytics.
- Create and update technical documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency.
Skills / Attributes Required:
- Bachelor or Master's in quantitative disciplines like Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft - Power BI. (Expert level)
- Experience in writing complex DAX queries in Power BI.
- Good understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI report server
- Strong SQL writing abilities, using SQL to cleanse or transform data;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel & BI Technologies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to use data for business projections and new marketing campaigns.
- Experience in automating business processes through software solutions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced deadline-oriented agile environment
- A highly ambitious, driven, and a go-getter attitude
- Ability to ask tough questions and the openness to be challenged
- Past experience working with SaaS implementations is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
