Job Summary
Technical Sales Engineers are often the key point of contact for clients, answering queries, providing technical advice, and demonstrating how to use new products and/or services. DigiCert is looking for a tech-savvy sales engineer to assist with the selling of DigiCert managed PKI products and services to our Government, Enterprise, and Manufacturing customers. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the clients' needs. To be successful as a Sales engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services (Product training will be provided by DigiCert) and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales and customer service skills.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of DigiCert solutions & architecture
- Performing technical and non-technical discussions with existing and potential new clients to discover and clearly identify the challenges, requirements, and objectives so as to formulate, discuss and promote DigiCert’s Digital Trust solution offering(s)
- Provide demonstrations of DigiCert solutions and services to prospects/customers and DigiCert Partners
- Facilitate technical evaluations by prospective customers in a Proof of Concept (POC) environment.
- Prepare written technical responses, presentations, and demonstrations in response to client tenders and solution proposal requests
- Capture feature request/enhancement input from prospects/customers to provide feedback to Product Management
- Work independently and in conjunction with other members of the sales team and cross-functional teams
- Travel as necessary to customer sites and industry forums/conferences as needed to support the objectives of the department
- Researching, developing, and modifying products to meet client business and technical needs.
- Partner with the Sales team, taking responsibility for technical closure to drive revenue and customer success
- Analyzing existing DigiCert PKI client solution integration and usage to ensure continued use and service renewal
- Engage with existing DigiCert PKI clients and provide PKI solution design enhancements and/or expansion recommendations
- Provide training on DigiCert products and services to DigiCert Sales members, key clients and DigiCert partners
- Research client issues and facilitate problem/issue resolution with the DigiCert PKI Support team.
- Present on technical topics at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
What you will have
- 5+ years’ work experience in a cybersecurity or technical role
- Has achieved an Information Security related certification (e.g. CISSP, Security+, SSCP, CISM, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, GSEC, GISP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GWAPT, CEH) However, applicants without a degree or certification, but with previous technical sales experience or training, may apply
- Native level English writing and speaking skills
- Experience in technical sales, consulting and/or support in Information Technology
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and technical sales skills
- The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers
- Understanding of Digital Trust concepts: symmetric/asymmetric cryptography, digital signatures, PKI Certificate Authentication, Secure Email, OT/IoT, Code and Document Signing, Zero Trust architecture, and Quantum cryptography
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Basic project management skills to accomplish role requirements
Nice to have
- 5+ years sales engineering experience in cyber security or similar field with an understanding of PKI is a definite advantage.
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft ADCS PKI services
- Working knowledge of Cloud Services (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google)
- Working knowledge and/or deployment/integration experience in REST, and/or XML-based APIs, ideally into a customer’s environment, within an IT/IS or enterprise context
- Good technical writing skills
- Large enterprise IT consulting, administration, or support experience
