Job summary

DigiCert is seeking a highly skilled LMS Administrator to manage and maintain the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) for DigiCert University. The successful candidate will ensure the platform is fully operational, user-friendly, and optimized to meet the needs of learners, instructors, and internal departments. T

his role is essential to the success of DigiCert’s global training programs and is based in our Cape Town office.

 

What you will do

  • LMS Administration:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Moodle LMS.
    • Ensure the system is configured, maintained, and updated to meet evolving needs.
    • Perform regular audits to ensure platform stability, security, and scalability.
    • Manage and monitor LMS integrations, plugins, and customizations.
  • User Support:
    • Provide timely support to all LMS users, including troubleshooting technical issues.
    • Respond to user queries related to course enrollment, navigation, and system access.
    • Train instructors, employees, and external stakeholders on Moodle usage.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Work closely with instructional designers, learning experience designers, and IT to develop and implement new courses or content.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to identify and fulfill training needs.
    • Ensure seamless integration of LMS with other company systems.
  • Content Management:
    • Upload, organize, and manage course content in the LMS.
    • Assist with course testing, quality assurance, and deployment.
    • Ensure content complies with branding, accessibility, and organizational guidelines.

 

  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate regular reports on learner activity, course completion, and system usage.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve user experience and learning outcomes.
  • System Improvements:
    • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve the Moodle platform.
    • Stay up-to-date with Moodle updates, features, and best practices in learning management.

 

What you will have

  • Required:
    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience administering Moodle LMS.
    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a Moodle environment.
    • Strong understanding of open-source LMS architecture and plugins.
    • Experience configuring roles, permissions, and user profiles in Moodle.
  • Preferred:
    • Additional experience in Learning & Development or Instructional Design.
    • Familiarity with e-learning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, or AICC.
    • Experience with video hosting, learning analytics tools, and gamification techniques.
    • Knowledge of web development technologies like HTML, CSS, and PHP is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
