The Sr. DevSecOps Engineer provides technical guidance to the company to build efficient and secure infrastructure and achieve company goals. This role promotes compliance, fosters cross-functional collaboration, optimizes resources, ultimately creating more secure, scalable and cost-effective applications in biotech. This is a full time employee position and reports to Sr. Director of IT & Security.
**This position will be based on-site in Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available**
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Design and implement security measures for cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Implement, maintain, improve security tools such as an EDR/XDR, SIEM.
- Ensure robust network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure VPN configurations.
- Embed security practices into the CI/CD pipeline and throughout the SDLC.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC 2.0/DFARS etc.).
- Strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficient in programming languages, Python is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline and version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) or other biotech software is a plus.
- Ability to function well in a growth-oriented, nimble environment.
- Must have authorization to work in the US for any employer.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of DevSecOps, DevOps or Security Engineering experience
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or relevant security certifications are a plus.
