About the role:

As the PMO Senior Manager at Collective, you will lead our Program Management Office, providing strategic direction and support to project managers and teams across the organization. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring all projects align with our mission to empower businesses-of-one, delivering on time, within scope, and budget. You will drive the establishment and continuous improvement of project management standards, processes, and tools, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the PMO.

⚒️ Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Management
    • Develop and execute PMO strategies that align with Collective's mission and support our rapid growth
    • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and PMO staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on project management best practices and portfolio performance
  • Project Portfolio Management
    • Oversee the project portfolio, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with Collective's business priorities
    • Implement and maintain robust portfolio management processes, including project selection, prioritization, and performance tracking
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolve cross-project issues, and escalate critical matters to senior management
  • Standards and Process Excellence
    • Establish, maintain, and evolve project management standards, methodologies, and best practices tailored to Collective's unique business model
    • Drive the adoption of PMO processes, tools, and templates to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness
    • Ensure consistent application of project management standards across the organization
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
    • Develop and deliver compelling portfolio performance reports and presentations to senior leadership
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams, business units, and external partners
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation
    • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO and across project management practices
    • Conduct regular post-project reviews and leverage lessons learned to refine processes and methodologies
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in project management practices
  • Resource and Financial Management
    • Optimize allocation and utilization of PMO resources to meet evolving project demands in a fast-paced startup environment
    • Develop and manage the PMO budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and demonstrating ROI
    • Collaborate with HR to attract, develop, and retain top project management talent

🙌 What we want you to bring:

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
    • 8+ years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years leading a PMO in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
    • PMP certification required; additional certifications such as PgMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are highly desirable
    • Experience in SaaS, fintech, or related industries is a plus
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Proven track record of successfully leading a PMO and delivering large-scale, complex projects in a startup or high-growth environment
    • Deep understanding of various project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) and ability to apply them appropriately
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results
    • Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives

What we offer in return:

Compensation Range: $130,500 - $170,000 annual base salary
