As a key member of the Total Rewards team, this role will strengthen the foundation of Braze’s total compensation programs and strategies, while driving scalability and preparing the Company for its next phase of growth. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, you will have the opportunity to influence Braze’s total compensation approach, across both cash and equity, by managing daily compensation processes, leading company-wide cyclical initiatives, and ensuring alignment with market best practices. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail; strong quantitative skills; and effective cross-functional collaboration.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as the primary point of contact for compensation requests from key internal stakeholders, including Business Partners, Recruiters, Business Leaders, and employees. 
  • Own compensation data accuracy in Workday, leading testing related to compensation processes.
  • Proactively identify operational efficiencies and create clear, organized documentation of all adhoc and recurring requests/processes.
  • Own compensation benchmarking processes, which directly inform our company-wide compensation structures, ensuring equitable and competitive pay practices.
  • Ensure that pay practices are compliant with regulations across all geographies where Braze operates (i.e. FLSA classification, statutory/mandatory pay increases, etc.).
  • Prepare and present ad hoc compensation studies to the business, enabling leaders to make informed decisions for their teams.
  • Provide support and education to employees regarding compensation and equity programs via training sessions, newsletters, etc. 
  • Own the execution of our cyclical compensation and equity review and planning cycles.
  • Support the day-to-day administration of Braze’s equity compensation program, including managing the issuance and vesting of equity awards, as well as overseeing the Company’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
  • Prepare and maintain data needed for SEC filings including: 10-Q, 10-K, proxy compensation tables, 10b5-1 trading plans, and SOX compliance. 
  • Interact with transfer agent and third-party stock administrator to ensure that trades are settled timely, reconcile DWAC instructions and transfer agent activities.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for somebody who is experienced with managing large-scale projects and processes, knows how to build analytics, and draw insights from large data sets, and is passionate about delivering exemplary customer service. The right person is an obsessively detail-oriented multi-tasker, enjoys finding and implementing process efficiencies, and has an eye toward ensuring equitable practices.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • 4-6 years of progressive compensation and/or total rewards experience. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex conditional formulas, basic macros) with an ability and desire to conduct analysis on large data sets and draw conclusions/make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to drive programs independently.
  • A firm commitment to confidentiality and ability to operate with a high level of integrity and discretion.
  • Proven ability to seamlessly adapt to new systems; Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize workload and follow-up in a timely fashion; Experience working in a global, fast paced organization preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to identify gaps and implement changes.
  • Ability to remain organized and work on multiple simultaneous projects.

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $125,000 and $139,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $140,000 and $155,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
