As an Engineering Manager, you will drive the development of high-throughput, reliable, and secure data ingestion systems. You will partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across Bolt to make data from hundreds of services and external sources accessible for analytics, experimentation, and machine learning.

You’ll lead a team of talented engineers, helping them grow in their careers while shaping the future of Bolt’s Data Platform.

  • <point>Lead the Data Ingestion team: set clear goals, provide coaching, and ensure healthy team dynamics.</point>
  • <point>Own the strategy and delivery of our ingestion infrastructure (streaming, batch, and APIs).</point>
  • <point>Partner with other Data Platform teams (Compute, Insights, Model Lifecycle, Experimentation) to ensure end-to-end reliability and scalability.</point>
  • <point>Drive best practices in data governance, including security, lineage, GDPR/PII compliance.</point>
  • <point>Hire, onboard, and mentor engineers to build a world-class team.</point>
  • <point>Collaborate with stakeholders across Bolt to understand data needs and deliver impact.</point>

<title>About you:</title>

  • <point>5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, and 1–3 years leading a team.</point>
  • <point>Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).</point>
  • <point>Solid experience with Python, Scala, Java, or TypeScript, and strong SQL skills..</point>
  • <point>Familiarity with Kafka or other message brokers, relational DBs, and NoSQL technologies.</point>
  • <point>Hands-on technical background in Big Data, Data Engineering, or Backend Engineering. Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Spark/Databricks, and modern data warehousing tech (Presto, Trino, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Redshift, etc.).</point>
  • <point>Track record of delivering projects on time, managing stakeholders, and handling complex technical trade-offs.</point>
