Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

The Staff FinOps Engineer at BILL will be responsible for leading the financial operations and optimization of the company's cloud infrastructure. This staff-level role requires deep expertise in cloud financial management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive strategic cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, finance, and Infra teams to ensure effective cloud cost management and financial accountability.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud financial management, financial analysis, cloud computing, or a related role
  • Deep understanding of AWS cost management tools and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture and services, including containerization (ECS/EKS), compute, storage, networking, databases, etc.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • Experience in automating cloud resource provisioning and management
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk)
  • Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer)
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Monitoring and optimizing cloud costs, with a focus on AWS
  • Creating and presenting financial reports and maintaining dashboards
  • Collaborating with engineering, INFRA, and finance teams to manage cloud costs
  • Enhancing financial processes through improvements and automation
  • Training and mentoring team members on cost management

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits. Zone 1- San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle
$175,000$210,000 USD
Zone 2- CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area), Austin TX, Massachusetts
$157,500$189,000 USD
Zone 3 -Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX (office), Florida, North Carolina
$148,800$178,500 USD
