Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of a facility. The Maintenance Technician must be equipped with mechanical or technical skills to perform minor maintenance repairs and installations, able to read floor plans, and work as directed by supervision and management.
Pay range: $19 - $22/hr
Job Responsibilities
- General Facilities Maintenance
- Installations & repairs. Included but not limited to; apartment room furniture, hardware and mechanisms, light carpentry, basic plumbing, ceiling grid & tiles, locks, door closers
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and able to work on roofs
- Install carpet, vct floors, vinyl floors, strip and wax floors
- Turn over of rooms to include painting, sheet rock repairs
- Escorting of vendors and contractors
- The use of powered hand tools, motorized equipment, and any tools needed to perform required tasks
- Alert to public safety and security concerns. Notifies responsible agencies and/or leadership and supports the outcome
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager
Requirements
- 1 year of Facilities Maintenance experience, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
