Position Overview:
As a member of the Legal team, the Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in developing, drafting, negotiating and executing contracts for our Company. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and strategic partner who will be responsible for overseeing our contract management process. This position will report directly to the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Contracts and Product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft, evaluate, negotiate and prepare for execution of a wide variety of contracts covering a range of transactions with an emphasis on customer and vendor contracts
- Work with internal stakeholders, customers and vendors on contract negotiation and related issues
- Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress
- Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters
- Assist with implementation of a CRM
- Monitor the performance of each signed contract, ensuring all obligations and conditions are met.
- Monitor contracts and coordinate with stakeholders to move forward with close-out, extension and renewal
- Monitor legal risks and obligations, expirations, renewals, deadlines, opt-out windows and termination requirements, ensuring timely actions are taken
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal and technical documents
- Ability to work to, develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once to deadline
- Provide guidance on contract-related issues and best practices to internal teams
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate potential legal risks
Qualifications:
- You should be an intellectually curious self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills
- This is a high growth area and the ideal candidate is a confident self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and high-energy environment, and who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities with agility and efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contracting concepts, contract acquisition, and contract law.
- 7+ years contracts management experience, paralegal, or other comparable experience with responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts
- Demonstrated ability to create new procedures and workflows
- Proficiency or experience with a contact management system, Contract Works and Salesforce preferred
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and regulatory issues to non-experts
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a drive to take on new challenges and adapt to rapidly changing environments
- Ability to multitask and work independently
