About the role:

Apixio is seeking an experienced Business Implementation Analyst to join our Payment Integrity Implementation team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven experience in writing detailed requirements, and the ability to groom backlogs for sprint readiness while supporting project management tasks. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and clients to accurately translate business needs into clear, testable requirements for development.

Responsibilities:

Capture Business Requirements

  • Understand Apixio’s Payment Integrity business, products, data stores, standard and non-standard frameworks and UI functionality
  • Through project management of onboarding clients, gather detailed requirements from clients, stakeholders, and understand the impacted systems, components, and/or data
  • Drive business value translation and requirement definition for grooming 
  • Document pertinent technical considerations and detail that aid in solution design and development
  • Identifies and manages requirement dependencies between other teams and technology stacks 

Support Implementation and Client Onboarding

  • Liaise directly with technical leads and engineers to translate and articulate both business and technical requirement details 
  • Identify the best sources of primary or secondary data to satisfy business requirements
  • Work with cross-functional team members from Operations, Product, Data Integration, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering and other areas to ensure requirements meet Definition of Ready (DoR) prior to development
  • Collaborates closely with various stakeholders to understand external and internal organizational needs for unstructured data extraction, transformation, and mapping and other data & reporting needs
  • Coordinates and validates design approaches with solution architects and agile team members
  • Simulates and tests product features and capabilities for usability and alignment with industry standards
  • Project management leadership by developing project plans, maintaining project scope through project documentation, and provide regular updates and action items to both client and internal stakeholders 

Provide Prioritization

  • Identify and document scope and requirement dependencies
  • Work with the respective Implementation, Engineering Leaders and team to provide input on prioritization and ordering
  • Support sprint planning and execution, ensuring agile team development is in accordance with prioritization of the backlog
  • Acts as the authority for all scope and prioritization within the respective agile team backlog
  • Identify potential risk to develop mitigation plan for both external and internal facing

Improve Processes

  • Assess, quantify, and recommend implementation and product enhancements that improve efficiency and usability
  • Identify and analyze data to provide quantitative evaluation of requirements

Demonstrate Initiative and Focus

  • Demonstrate ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment with evolving product capabilities
  • Have a high degree of initiative and customer service focus
  • Be a results oriented team player

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on product management, technology, business, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with healthcare data, machine learning technologies, and solutions managing backlogs and grooming requirements with agile development teams
  • 2+ years of project management experience working within the Payment Integrity product scope, focus on DRG Clinical and Coding Validation and Itemized Bill reviews preferred
  • Product development methodology experience and technical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills necessary to relay complex requirements to team members and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently when needed, applying critical thinking and problem solving to achieve a positive outcome. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting data analysis in SQL and Excel, and a scripting language like Python, R, SAS
  • Experience with statistics and data modeling concepts like multivariate regression, segmentation modeling, machine learning, data mining, simulation, optimization, forecasting
  • Experience with business intelligence backend and analytics applications
The salary range below is for Base Salary.  Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation.  Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
Base Compensation
$90,000$130,000 USD
