Position Summary:   

We seek a strong leader with experience and knowledge in the proteomics and immunoassay market to lead our assay and consumables portfolio.  In this role, the candidate will be the product champion, build the strategy and roadmap, launch products, and own all product management responsibilities for a growing portfolio of assay and reagent products.   Responsibilities include developing market research, leading new product development teams, managing inventory, pricing, customer communications, and revenue forecasting. 

This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel and will require direct customer communication, public presentation, and a team-focused approach.  Strong business and customer focus are essential.  Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing product development and marketing plans, and a general knowledge of operating plans as well as industry practices for developing, promoting and selling similar products. The Director, Product Management must exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and is able to synthesize a decisive path forward based on all available information. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain the cooperation of others and conduct presentations of technical information.  

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Lead new product development process from concept through commercialization, including voice of customer research, definition of customer and product requirements and value proposition, manage product launches and sales training.   
  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy, and identify opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product differentiation. 
  • Build KOL networks and conduct SAB meetings to capture input on assay content to insure adoption by scientific community.   
  • Present at scientific conferences and customer sites.   
  • Manage worldwide supply, demand, revenue, margin, and pricing for product portfolio, update and present forecasts regularly to management, finance, and manufacturing teams.   
  • Work collaboratively with other marketing and sales team members to drive growth for the business segment.   
  • Must have proven ability to build relationships and guide teams, including representatives from multiple functional areas, including R&D, Sales, Program Management, and Manufacturing. 
  • Must be able to manage project scope, budget, and schedule to successfully complete project deliverables. 
  • Must have experience in managing multiple stakeholders and resolving conflict within teams. 
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation techniques. 
  • Up to 25% Travel (international and domestic) is required. 

 Skills / Knowledge Requirements: 

  • Understanding of the proteomics and immunoassay market and landscape. 
  • Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through completing a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in life sciences. 
  • Requires 10+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree (PhD Preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Requires strong business acumen with ability to develop business models. 
  • Relevant experience includes experience in life sciences marketing, product management, and market research. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to comfortably present technical information to small and large conferences representing the company and the product line. 
  • Requires strong customer-facing experience. 
  • Experience developing and presenting product marketing materials required. 

The base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $220,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
