DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

The Director of FP&A is an integral part of a growing finance organization.  This person will provide important business and financial decision support to key decision-makers across multiple functions and projects as well as establish best practices in financial planning, management reporting, and analytical support.  We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, articulate, professional, has strong attention to detail, is willing to roll up their sleeves, and can work in a fast-paced and growing organization. In addition, this person needs to be agile and be able to adjust to changing environments as new processes are being implemented. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced hands-on leader who collaborates well with cross-functional teams, balancing strategic goals with day-to-day operations. This is an onsite role, working in the office from Tuesday to Thursday and remotely on Monday & Friday.  This position will be reporting to the VP, Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and lead Adicet’s financial planning processes, management reporting, and corporate financial analyses within a strategic framework that balances short-term goals with long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with Senior and Executive Leadership Team on strategic and operational decisions, providing business and analytical support across the business with a committed, business partnering mindset.
  • Develop clear & accurate reporting that effectively communicates financial results, planning expectations and outcomes; analyze financial trends and help paint the story to senior leaders within the organization
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on monthly close to ensure accruals and expenses are recorded accurately and promptly, which may include preparing journal entries as needed, flux analyses, business transactions, and key upcoming or forward-looking business activities.
  • Review draft contracts and agreements and assess business terms and alignment with current year budget
  • Manage the procurement function and ensure purchase requests are properly in budget. Collaborate with budget owners on the management of purchase orders and financial impact of procuring key goods and services. Reconcile payments to contracts/change orders and purchase orders as needed.
  • Support compliance of internal controls, preparation of finance materials for the Board, and other high priority projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of increasing FP&A responsibilities with public biotech/pharma industry experience
  • Strong and advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills as well as solid accounting knowledge
  • Proficient in Adaptive Planning, Dynamics Business Central and Corpay
  • Experience in small and mid-size biotech firms, particularly in companies transitioning to clinical development stage as well as experience and knowledge of clinical trial forecasting, contract manufacturing and external collaborations.
  • A solid track record of identifying and solving problems, implementing process improvements, and being hands-on, as well as be able to adjust to changing environments as new processes are being implemented.
  • Strong aptitude and proven ability to work and foster strong relationships across the business (Research, Technical operations, Clinical, G&A), collaborate with business leaders, functions, and project teams, and be a flexible team player.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), e.g. in articulating sometimes complex financial issues, synthesizing diverse concepts, and relaying relevant issues from a business perspective.
  • Technically savvy with systems and ability to build processes and utilize technology to enhance productivity, reduce errors, and mitigate risks.
