About the role:

As an Accountant, you’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our ongoing financial success, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting activities under the supervision of our Sr. Director, Accounting, and supporting timely and accurate period-end close processes. We’re looking for someone who brings attention to detail, a drive for efficiency, and strong analytical skills to deliver reliable financial insights that help power Absci’s growth. Responsibilities: 

  • Ownership of the accounting close process for assigned areas, including frequent interaction with cross-functional teams
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations
  • Own and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, fixed assets, account reconciliations, etc
  • Assist in the execution of the internal control environment with formalized processes and controls
  • Fully support and help drive initiatives to identify continuous improvement in accounting and finance-related processes
  • Participate in special projects, as needed (financial analysis, process improvements, financings, acquisitions, etc)
  • Provide support throughout compliance requirements (tax filings, external audit, etc)

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience utilizing finance/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Coupa, FloQast) and Excel
  • Comprehensive background in accounting, including in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles ( 3+ years of experience preferred)
  • Experience working at a publicly traded company

Preferred (but not required):

  • CPA license or CPA eligible.
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or SEC-registered company.
  • Experience with technical accounting research and the new revenue standard (ASC 606).
  • Strong understanding of and experience in preparing financial statements (Income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and equity)
  • Prior experience in a high-growth or startup environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $ 110,000 per year. The range provided is based on our reasonable estimate for the base salary range for this job at the time of posting. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law
