EquipmentShare is Hiring a Strategic Sourcing Manager

EquipmentShare is searching for a Strategic Sourcing Manager team member to support Construction/Building Products/Consumables for our corporate office based in Columbia, MO. A remote or hybrid option could be considered for the Candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the sourcing and procurement processes across EquipmentShare for an assigned portfolio in OEM, non-OEM and/or Indirect.
  • Act with a sense of urgency.
  • Negotiate the best pricing and value for products and services in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner
  • Oversee and manage the creation of new and renewed vendor relationships and contracts as needed.
  • Review product quality and effectiveness for EquipmentShare’s needs
  • Guide, mentor & develop team members and vendors to meet business goals and targets
  • Evaluate product vendors and study market trends to identify the best vendor options and predict product availability
  • Assist in the development of standards, processes and best practices for the
    Procurement department
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate across team’s organization-wide to achieve goals and establish transparent procurement processes
  • Review current category services and products to identify areas of price reductions, efficient purchasing, improvements, etc.
  • Build solid vendor relationships for common services across the assigned accounts and create a One Face mentality.
  • Become the single point of contact internally for all stakeholders and present concerns to our vendors, lead a one face to the supplier mindset.
  • Collaborate and work with the organization’s management during vendor evaluation and selection, as well as purchase contract negotiations and service level agreements
  • Mine data to drive in depth analysis of category usage and spend.

Skills & Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred
  • Must have at least 8-10 years of Construction & Building Products category management experience
  • Professional certifications preferred e.g., CPSM, CIPS, C.P.M., or evidence of continued professional growth Targeted Competencies
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Prolonged sitting at a computer will be required
  • Strong project management, communication and leadership skills
  • Solid working knowledge of the complete procurement cycle with a hands-on work styl
  • You can negotiate with the best of them, and you’re personable and charismatic
  • You should feel confident and comfortable communicating effectively with all levels of leadership within the organization
  • In-depth knowledge of Procurement, Supply Chain and Inventory fundamentals
