The Role
Associate Director - Vector Production. A strategic and results-driven leader who will play a pivotal role in advancing Dyno’s mission by optimizing and scaling AAV production processes.
How You Will Contribute
As Associate Director - Vector Production, you will be tasked with executing pooled library productions for Dyno’s NHP studies. Your expertise in vector production and team management will drive the achievement of ambitious production goals to support our groundbreaking gene therapy work. You will ensure the production of high-quality AAV vectors that meet strict criteria and enable our studies to advance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, plan, and execute end-to-end AAV vector production processes at relevant scales, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines, for novel capsids designed by Dyno’s AAV platform.
- Utilize run/batch summaries to synthesize production outcomes and contextualize process performance.
- Develop a strategy to ensure Dyno’s vector production capabilities can meet the demand of the organization’s broader capsid engineering strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, including managing a small team of direct reports.
- Work collaboratively to drive process optimization across upstream (e.g., suspension culture or adherent bioreactors) and downstream (e.g., depth filtration, TFF, FPLC) processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of production workflows with broader Dyno goals.

Basic qualifications
- MS or Ph.D in bioprocessing, chemical engineering, vector biology, or biological sciences.
- MS with a minimum of 8-10+ years experience in the biotechnology or pharma industry OR PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience in a AAV manufacturing setting.
- Experience running end-to-end vector production processes at scale, either in suspension culture at ≥50 L or medium/large-scale adherent bioreactors (e.g., iCellis, Univercells scale-x carbo, or similar).
- Proven expertise managing both upstream (stir-tanks/rockers if in suspension) and downstream (depth filtration, TFF, FPLC, fill/finish) processes of AAV production.
- Well-developed background in process optimization.
- Experience leading a team of at least three direct reports.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in AAV vector production quality control, either through direct involvement or in-depth interaction.
- Experience in suspension production if prior experience is primarily in adherent culture.
