About Take Command

Take Command is a start-up on a mission to improve the healthcare system, starting with health insurance. Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. We believe this model can empower employees (when they have the right support) to be savvy healthcare consumers and have a transformative impact on the entire healthcare system.

Let’s be honest—health insurance is usually a confusing, frustrating, and even emotional experience for people. We want to fix that with a new model, great technology, and a superior user experience. We have made a great start, but we need your help to fully realize our long-term vision.

We are seeking a user-centric and detail-oriented Product Manager who will lead the charge in defining and executing our product vision. This role involves strategic planning, a strong understanding of user needs, in-depth market analysis, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that align with our mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Product Vision: Partner with the Director of Product to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that articulates the Take Command’s differentiators and aligns customer needs with company goals. Ensure the vision is understood and shared across all departments.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and user research to identify trends and opportunities as well as refine Take Command’s competitive differentiators. Regularly seek customer input and frequently update the team on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and user feedback.
  • Roadmap Development: Create and maintain a quarterly product roadmap, ensuring alignment with user needs, business objectives and stakeholder priorities. Prioritize scrum team features and improvements based on customer feedback and business impact.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with design, engineering, operations, customer support / success, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality, customer-centric functionality on time and within budget.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, delivery efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Use data to drive decision-making and ongoing prioritization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries, updates, and feedback. Ensure transparent and proactive communication with all stakeholders, consulting impacted internal users on requirements that affect their work and customer interactions.
Technical Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, within an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset; highly detail-oriented and able to quickly understand and communicate complex, detailed scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and quantity feature value, and build models to track and prioritize based on expected vs actual value.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch, on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
  • Proven experience collaborating and communicating with multiple stakeholder groups and including other departments in product conversations.
  • Deep experience listening to and interviewing users, and effectively communicating and advocating for their needs.
Additional Expectations:
  • Customer Focus: Prioritize customer needs and feedback in the product development process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the product team, encouraging critical thinking and product ownership within the team.
  • Collaboration: Promote a collaborative and inclusive environment, encouraging input, ideas, and proactive leadership from all team members.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and market conditions, and drive the adaptation of the tool to meet changing customer needs.

Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000 plus a 10% potential bonus

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
