About the Role

 

This is a general posting for multiple Product Analyst roles open across our 4-sided marketplace. You will get mapped to a team based on your experience/skills, as well as your interest in the given problem spaces. You can find a blurb on each team at the bottom of this page. 

 

With regards to level, we have openings at L4 (Associate, Product Analytics) and L5 (Sr. Associate, Product Analytics). Your level will be determined by your education, years of experience, and most importantly, how you perform throughout the interview process. If you're targeting a senior title, you'll need to prove to the team that you're operating at that level. 

 

In these roles, you will provide data-driven insights to enhance decision-making processes, identify new opportunities, and provide strategic guidance across Instacart. By collaborating closely with our product and data science teams, you will enhance our understanding of complex problems and contribute to opportunities for improvement. 

 

Your ability to understand how our data connects to our business goals will allow you to develop frameworks to guide our decision making, evaluate trade offs and drive decisions. Your work will directly impact our ability to optimize our marketplace, contributing to Instacart’s mission of creating a seamless grocery shopping experience.

 

About the Team

 

As a member of the Product Analytics team, you will provide essential support for strategic and product decision-making, as well as help Instacart ‘see around corners’ to identify new opportunities.  

 

Our team excels in using data-driven insights and developing frameworks to address complex challenges within the marketplace.  We serve as a point of connection between teams, facilitating collaboration, idea sharing, and alignment, helping Instacart develop more holistic solutions.

 

 

About the Job 

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Become an expert on Instacart’s business and systems from the lens of the team you’re supporting, allowing you to understand how our data and products connect to our strategy and goals
  • Partner with and influence Instacart leadership (product, engineering, design, and c-suite) to develop high-level strategy, frameworks to evaluate trade-offs and formulate action plans.
  • Translate complex datasets and uncertain business problems into understandable narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate strategic planning in collaboration with cross-functional partners, sizing new opportunities, prioritizing initiatives, and implementing performance measurement processes.

 

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have 4+ years of experience in strategy and operations, product analytics, or management consulting with a proven track record of leading successful analytics initiatives. 
  • You are a strategic thinker that can also dive deep into business problems and convey complex ideas to a wide range of audiences with clarity and structure.
  • You think with data and are proficient with SQL.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to quickly respond to problems independently and proactively address conflicting stakeholder requirements to achieve creative compromise.
  • You have a proven track record of designing and implementing process improvement projects and improving business metrics in resource-constrained environments.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ‘gig economy’ marketplaces
  • Experience creating dashboards and BI Tools
  • Masters degrees in business and/or a quantitative discipline (e.g. economics, statistics)

The Marketplace team helps answer questions like "How many ice cream containers can I take from the store before the last delivery starts to melt? Which shopper should deliver this order and how much should we charge?" We build the models and systems that help solve these riddles, while creating a smooth experience for both shoppers and customers.

 

Restaurants

Join the Restaurants team at Instacart, a highly dynamic and rapidly expanding sector in partnership with Uber Eats, experiencing explosive growth far beyond expectations. This role promises extreme visibility and impact within a fast-paced environment where strategic data analysis and intuitive decision-making intersect to drive continued expansion. Ideal for candidates who thrive on direct, weekly engagements with partners and are adept at making rapid, informed decisions without waiting for full experiment results.

 

 

Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.
