Health Gorilla is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant on a contract basis with potential to hire based on performance. Once fully onboarded, this contractor will be expected to work 20-30 hours per week. You will report directly to the Director of Accounting and contribute to the growth of the Accounting department and the development of the Company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a functional owner of processes within the General Ledger and across multiple teams. As the third member of a dynamic accounting team, you will have meaningful responsibilities, and this presents an excellent opportunity for enhanced learning and career development.

What you will do at Health Gorilla

  • Manage month end close including (but not limited to):
    • Payroll accounting: prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll and benefit liability accounts plus partner with HR on variances
    • Accruals: analyze monthly charges and prepare the necessary accruals
    • Commissions: support the analysis of sales commissions calculation
    • Prepaids and fixed assets / equipment accounting
    • P&L Analysis: prepare the month-to-month P&L analysis to help understand the monthly variances which will be presented to the executives
    • Balance Sheet reconciliation: accounts to reconcile include AR, unbilled revenue, AP, credit cards, loans, etc.
  • AR:
    • Maintain our AR email account for any customer queries and communications
    • Follow-up with customers with aged balances and keep track of them
    • Work with collections agencies for delinquent customers
  • Others:
    • Business Licenses & business tax research and maintenance
    • Assist with cash management

What you bring to the role

  • Working knowledge of GAAP / accrual-based accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience - in-house or public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred but not required)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookup and pivot tables
  • Experience with various ERP (NetSuite) and software tools (Paylocity, Bill.com, AvaTax)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • Prior startup experience in fast-growing B2B SaaS company
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage technology for efficient data gathering and analysis
  • Ability operate and effectively communicate in a remote working environment

Health Gorilla takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this contractor role is $75-$100 per hour based on experience and geography. Please note that ranges may be modified at any time, and there is no guarantee offers will be at the top of a posted range.
