THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

This key leadership role is in a high-growth, high-energy, high-profit portfolio company of big thinkers and big doers. It is a CPG / beverage / dietary supplement company with a history of strong profitable growth as the number one product and brand in its emerging category. Through its expanding sales and distribution network, they are building a team to take current and new products to the global market and achieve exponential growth. With most of the leadership team formed, the opportunity is now to shape the regulatory framework governing expansion, grow revenue 10x-100x, and align with the strategies to achieve a highly lucrative exit.

CORPORATE CONTRACTS ATTORNEY

THE ROLE

The position will report to our Senior General Counsel, who is the head of our legal department, and support our portfolio of businesses. This position will have an emphasis on contracts. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts that include, but not limited to, employment agreements, vendor contracts, partnership/JV agreements, strategic and finance transactional matters. One of your primary goals will be to guarantee that all our company's transactions comply with state laws and regulations, while actively helping our company avoid possible legal risks ad violations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • J.D. degree with strong academic credentials
  • Active license to practice law in at least one country / state
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a corporate attorney
  • Experience within the supplements, pharmaceuticals, cannabis and/or alcohol industry preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous successful experience working with highly driven entrepreneurial founders and CEO’s
  • Excellent business judgment; intellectual curiosity and the ability to calibrate and balance legal and business requirements
  • Ability to work autonomously, taking accountability without a huge team behind them
  • Highly detailed and organized communication style, including the ability to be successful in collaborative, fast paced, scrappy, and high growth/high profit business
  • You are technologically savvy, quick with tools (e.g., O365, G-suite), and great at building visual reports and decision trees
  • Willingness and ability to work the hours it takes to be successful

COMPENSATION

This is one of the most valuable roles in the organization and compensation will match the skill and effort required for this role. An aggressive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative profit share program. A generous options package will be provided in this role so that you participate in short-, medium- and long-term liquidity events in our organization. Full medical benefits will be provided along with a 3-week vacation in addition to a Christmas - New Year’s week break.
