The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the Brand Marketing of the hero brand in the US portfolio. This is a brand already in 10k stores that has high velocities and double-digit growth. The Director of Marketing will lead the Annual Brand Planning process to drive Brand Awareness, Trial, Loyalty and Engagement. The ideal candidate will have CPG foundational years in Tier 1 CPG multinationals, have led multiple Annual Brand Planning (Business Review, STRAT Plans, Brand Plans), and Innovation cycles (Stage Gate) to drive significant Revenues growth. Then, will have moved to more fast-paced, scrappy start up in the US. Ideally the candidate also has experience in regulated categories. We’re looking for an experienced strategic brand marketer that is excited and motivated by growing market share, being first to market, driving market share leadership and recommending, and executive strong ROI innovation, Awareness & Trial plans. The role reports to the CMO.  


  • University, Bachelor’s or MBA degree in a Business oriented field with a major in Marketing or a related business discipline; superior financial acumen, and problem-solving skills is required 
  • 10+ years of progressive CPG Marketing experience within a Consumer-Packaged Goods environment in Food or Beverage with a strong enough foundation in classically trained brand management.; possess strong intellectual horsepower, a drive for business results, and a behavioral profile that advances the business through high collaboration, cross functional business teams, and active participation 
  • Proven ability to build profitable growth in CPG; proven to have generated by driving demand, brand loyalty through consumer and channel understanding, innovation, new platforms and technology, advertising, media, packaging, consumer promotions, consumer insight analysis, marketing analytics, and strong B2C, 1-to-1 marketing
  • Ideally, have some CPG B2C eComm experience with track record of driving profitable growth 
  • Have proven capability in creating a disciplined framework for organizing and leading priorities, actions, and people to achieve and exceed target results; a strong multi-tasker who can wear multiple hats and positively contribute broadly to enhanced business and functional capability in Marketing; possess strong attention to detail in execution to achieve the desired business performance metrics; a great listener who can effectively collaborate cross functionally, including with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations
  • A team player with high substance who possesses a proven ability combined with a positive attitude to be an active participant in contributing to business performance; possess a collaborative nature that brings individuals across functions together in the execution of the Marketing plan

  • Previous and recent experience with the CPG B2C or B2B experience in a high growth orientated organization 
  • Strong preference for experience in regulated digital environment: cannabis, gaming, loans, vaping, alcohol, and pharmaceutical supplements industries 



  • Leads the Annual Brand Plans to deliver on the company Revenues and Profit Objectives by driving Brand Awareness, Trial, Loyalty, and Engagement 
  • This includes all the elements of the Brand Plans: P&L, ROI, Calendar (Innovation, marketing, PR, Digital, Sampling, Awareness/Media, etc.)  
  • Create and align the business and the company to a consumer and retailer-centric, data-driven marketing strategies and plans that drive the growth of the brand 
  • Strongly communicate and inspire the marketing organization to the Brand positioning with growth plans
  • Work closely with cross functional partners (Sales, Operations) and the eComm VP to develop the most robust marketing brand plans and ensure flawless execution 
  • Define and measure all tactics with Objectives and KPI’s, including increasing awareness, driving consumer engagement, and supporting the overall growth strategy
  • Develop and secure alignment to the Innovation multi-year Plan and lead Project Management to take each innovation successfully through State-Gate to ensure each innovation hits on all milestones/success metrics and Innovation is launched on time/on Budget and delivers the KPI’s agreed at the steering committee level
  • Create a deep consumer learning and Research plan, provide robust analysis of consumer and customer data/insights, and deliver strong tactics and action plans to drive growth with our key customer segments
  • Provide thought leadership to identify new, innovative, and digital-first ways to connect brands to all relevant customer segments
  • Prepare and present monthly Scorecards (deep dive) and weekly updates
  • Lead the Annual Digital Planning process with the Brand team (including cross functional and agency partners) from the Business review process to pull out key brand performance indicators, emerging brand/category trends, and key learnings on drivers/building blocks 


  • Develop robust Innovation pipeline and secure alignment from management and cross functional to profitable revenue growth
  • Develop and execute a very robust Consumer Research program to understand and tap into emerging trends and insights to come up with meaningful innovation that will be first to market and/or drive significant market share 
  • Ensure the Innovation moves through the Stage Gate channel so that the innovation delivers on Milestones and works through a fast but disciplined process of validation as it moves to market
  • Lead the Marketing Launch Recommendation to secure organizational alignment to the innovation prior to launch
  • Ensure strong omni channel launches to support rapid awareness and trial and excitement and growth around the innovation by working closely with the Digital team 
  • Deliver on the specific Innovation Revenue/profit targets 


  • Drive Awareness & Trial via ongoing optimizing and ROI improvement of the key programs 
  • Sampling: Ads, Loyalty programs 
  • Lead all execution of the marketing strategies, tactics, programs from recommendation to execution, tracking, reporting and improving to deliver on the Annual Plan
  • Develop Loyalty, Awareness and Trial program and use sound CPG ROI approach to recommend the best programs then executed them and follow through

A market commensurate base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this roll. Options/equity will be provided to suitable candidates after completion of the first 90 days. This role also provides the opportunity for advancement in role, function and pay.
