ElevateBio is a cell and gene therapy technology company built to power the development of transformative cell and gene therapies today and for many decades to come. The company has assembled industry-leading talent, built world-class facilities, and integrated diverse technology platforms necessary for rapid innovation and commercialization of cell, gene, and regenerative therapies.
The Role:
ElevateBio is actively recruiting a Scientist II / Sr. Scientist, to join the Regenerative Medicine group focused on iPSC platform technologies and developing iPSC-derived therapeutics. This role will be working with cross-functional teams to advance novel reprogramming technologies for the manufacture of next-gen clinical grade iPSC lines. This individual will play an important role in combining reprogramming and editing for the development of iPSC-derived therapies internally and with external partners. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in iPSC reprogramming and characterization, and managed multiple direct reports in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of scientists to meet project goals and provide mentorship and supervision
- Plan, lead, and optimize experiments to advance proprietary non-integrating iPSC reprogramming technologies geared toward the manufacture of clinical iPSC lines
- Lead the project’s scientific strategy, identifying risks and mitigations as appropriate
- Collaborate effectively across different ElevateBio teams to drive the project
- Combine novel reprogramming method with LifeEdit gene editing platform
- Contribute to the development of iPSC-derived therapeutics and external partnerships
- Develop and optimize analytical methods to assess reprogrammed iPSCs
- Participate in IP filing
- Schedule and resource project team’s day-to-day work
- Track and present on project progress both internally and in cross-functional forums
- Stay current on relevant science and present at scientific conferences
Requirements:
- PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience or MS/MA with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Three or more years of industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing small teams of scientists
- Extensive experience in pluripotent stem cell biology focused on iPSC reprogramming with relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals. Background knowledge in iPSC genetics and epigenetics is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating pluripotent stem cell lines
- Experience in molecular biology with an emphasis on mRNA synthesis, splicing, and delivery is desirable
- Gene editing experience (CRISPR/Cas9, TALEN, etc) is preferred
