We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer/Planner who will play a pivotal role in enabling the supply chain and assembly of our NGS instruments and consumables. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in planning, purchasing, inventory management, and MRP. This role will be an in-person, San Diego based role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Own the overall planning of Element’s instrument manufacturing. Ensure raw materials are available to keep manufacturing operating and finished goods are available to keep customer shipments moving
Partner closely with manufacturing to plan assembly capacity, adjust for surges and down days, triage and solve material delays
Lead S&OP supply reviews for instrument manufacturing
Lead vendor communication regarding shipment priorities, specs, quality issues, etc.
Develop and manage overall component planning and purchasing strategies
Model planning strategies in MRP. Manage item/planning master data and system rules to optimize supply plans and manage material and capacity constraints
Participate in NPI readiness efforts, coordinating with Sourcing, Engineering, and Product Development teams to supply samples, first articles, plan launch quantities, and overall ops launch readiness
Participate in and support strategic sourcing strategy development with the Sourcing team
Work with finance and accounting to resolve pricing/invoicing discrepancies and plan for revenue goals
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred with 3-5 years experience in a similar role
Experience planning electromechanical items and instrument assembly preferred
Experience using an ERP system for procurement and inventory management (NetSuite preferred)
Ability to build trust with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, communicating in a clear but professional manner
High degree of initiative and self-direction, but also have a strong commitment to being a team player
Committed to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to flex and multi-task in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, flexing working hours in certain situations when necessary
Ability to maintain a professional, customer focused demeanor
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds

Base Compensation Pay Range:
$98,000 - $118,000
In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
