About Elementary

Elementary is a full-stack robotics company based in Downtown Los Angeles. We’re backed by great investors including Fika Ventures, Fathom Capital, Toyota AI Ventures, Idealab, and more! At Elementary we want to bring robot assistants into the world that scale and improve day-to-day repetitive tasks. To achieve this, we’re developing a robotic platform that reduce both the price and complexity barriers traditionally associated with robotics. We have a sharp go-to-market strategy and what you work on will be launching to the world! You’ll join a lean, fast-paced team with experts across the robotic stack and will contribute meaningfully to bring our (and your!) dreams to life.

What You'll Do
  • Contribute to architecture choices and implementations for cutting edge computer vision and machine learning algorithms
  • Take labeled data and customer problems and design ML pipelines and models to deliver the desired results
  • Develop models and algorithms both in simulation and on our robotic hardware
  • Develop pipelines and strategies for retraining and redeploying models after more data has been collected
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to determine which sensors to use, where to place them, and how best to solve our customers’ problems

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ Years of Experience with developing machine learning and/or computer vision algorithms to solve real-world problems
  • Proficient in Python
  • Familiar with popular machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, TFLite, Caffe, and others
  • Experience using common off-the-shelf RGB and depth-sensing cameras such as Intel Realsense, Microsoft Kinect, etc.
  • Experience with common image processing frameworks such as OpenCV, CUDA, numpy, pandas, etc.
  • Up-to-date with recent papers and trends in the computer vision and ML community 
  • Strong software engineering skills including git, github, CI/CD and unit testing

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in a related field
  • Proficient in multiple additional programming languages
  • Experience with distributed systems for running machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) for running/training ML algorithms
