Elation is looking for a Software Engineer with deep understanding of both web and server-side programming, technologies, and scalability challenges. Elation’s development team is a small group of experienced and talented engineers who are passionate about our product and our users. As a member of the team you’ll be involved in product design and development, work on all parts of the stack, and deploy your changes to production weekly. We also strongly believe great talents and great ideas can come from anywhere and we've built a development team that embraces working remotely.
This role reports directly to the CTO.


  • Design and develop new product features on all parts of the stack
  • Collaborate with design, product, and qa teams to deliver projects with measurable business results
  • Suggest and drive improvement on all parts of the stack and internal development processes
  • Help our skilled support team triage bugs and troubleshoot production issues
  • Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews


  • At least five years experience (or equivalent) working professionally as a full stack developer in a fast-paced startup
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Django, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Strong SQL and relational database modeling skills
  • Experience with modern browser technologies
  • Experience in some of these: MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, Celery, AWS
  • Experience building and debugging distributed systems in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong sense of empathy
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving dynamic environment
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience


  • Knowledge or strong interest on US healthcare industry and common technologies used
  • Experience designing and building public APIs
  • Complete comfort in putting on a product manager hat when needed
