That's why we are hiring a Content & Social Media Strategist to elevate our content across channels, with the opportunity to define an overall strategy and tactics that can turn content into an engine for brand growth.This role will be responsible for strategy and implementation of content initiatives for the Eight Sleep brand across social media accounts and other brand-owned channels. This position reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.

 

How you’ll contribute:

First and foremost, we are a mission-driven company, so passion for what we do and our mission is key. The end goal of this role is to build the brand through content that engages the target audience, while also measuring how this content drives member acquisition and engagement. At a high level, the role encompasses three areas:

  • Crafting a content strategy for our brand-owned channels that increases brand awareness and drives qualified traffic into our funnels
  • Executing on that strategy, implementing best practices across all owned content
  • Recruiting and managing third-party content contributors and multimedia creators as needed

 

Some other details about the role:

  • Content strategy: Establish clear pillars and drive multimedia marketing calendar for the brand. Use your creativity to define our category of sleep fitness through owned channels.
  • Social strategy: Leverage social media best practices to drive owned channel growth and deeper engagement on these platforms. 
  • Content production: Create premium pieces of content on a variety of topics relating to health, sleep innovation, wellness, performance. Pieces must be thought for the enjoyment of both members and prospective members.
  • Content distribution: Work closely with the Growth team to find opportunities to distribute each content piece via owned channels (email, organic social, app), and through partnerships with other brands and outlets including guest posting.
  • Team building and management: Using a defined department budget, collaborate with contributors to deliver on the needs of the content calendar.
  • Reporting: Report on  KPIS and continue  to iterate on our strategy to ensure we hit goals.



What you need to succeed:

  • You are interested in the health and wellness space, particularly in sleep, as well as an understanding of the topics that appeal to Eight Sleep members. 
  • You have documented experience producing compelling content that drives engagement & awareness across channels. Including but not limited to owned social content, videos, blog posts & more. 
  • You have a deep understanding of how different content formats can be leveraged across popular online platforms.
  • You have high design standards, are comfortable working with design team to create compelling visual content that engages consumers on owned, earned and paid channels
  • You are familiar with the latest tools to efficiently monitor all content marketing efforts and optimize for KPIs.
  • You’ve built reports that properly convey the impact that a content strategy has on the business.
  • You thrive as an independent thinker, and can strategize how to achieve goals even in open-ended ambiguous environments.
  • Strong collaborator, can build and scale a team.
  • You enjoy working remotely.

  • Direct creator experience with multimedia for digital platforms: you’re a professional or amateur photographer, videographer, illustrator, designer, or similar.
