Purpose of Position

We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Lead, Product Manager with strong project management skills to lead product development efforts. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing budgets, coordinating external vendors and contractors, conducting A/B testing and analyzing user behavior to make data-driven UI/UX recommendations. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with teams from tech, business, and marketing, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the product lifecycle from ideation through execution, balancing strategic vision with day-to-day project management.
  • Utilize project management tools like Monday.com to track timelines, deliverables, and progress across internal teams and external contractors.
  • Creatively manage small budgets to maximize output while ensuring high-quality product delivery.
  • Identify, onboard, and oversee external vendors and contractors, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Analyze user behavior, conduct A/B tests, and make insightful recommendations for improving UI/UX to ensure user-centric design.
  • Collaborate closely with development (fundraising), marketing, and business teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and seamless execution.
  • Implement product features that enhance accessibility, including mobile optimization, and ADA compliance.
  • Design and execute A/B tests, leverage user feedback, and use data analysis to guide product decisions and drive continuous improvements.
  • Ensure product decisions align with the company’s branding and marketing strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and user engagement.
  • Report on product development progress, contractor performance, and key milestones to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned that contribute to the overall strategic direction and effectiveness of the organization.

Travel - up to 10%

National travel will occur related to organizational needs and for professional learning, as needed. The amount of travel will be monitored to ensure it is appropriate for both the organization and the Lead, Product Management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Passion for EdReports’ mission and vision, our core values, and our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity;
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on user-centered design and hybrid project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen understanding of resource allocation and timeline management.
  • Strong understanding of user experience principles, with the ability to make actionable recommendations based on analytics and user feedback.
  • Experience with tools like Google Analytics or similar to track product performance and inform decision-making.
  • Strong soft skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence across various teams and departments.
  • Ability to navigate across technology, business, and user experience disciplines, making informed decisions that consider all aspects of the product.
  • Hands-on experience designing A/B tests and utilizing user feedback to guide product iterations.
  • Experience working with external contractors or vendors, from negotiation to project delivery.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, adapting quickly to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Understanding of digital accessibility standards such as ADA compliance and experience in improving product accessibility.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with working in environments where resources are limited but expectations are high.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
  • Experience working closely with marketing teams or familiarity with branding principles.
  • Experience working in the education or nonprofit sector, particularly with educational technology or instructional materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in product management, technology, education, or a related field.

  3. Cross-functional Collaboration: Highlight any collaborative efforts, such as communication with other teams or stakeholders, that demonstrate how you worked to align objectives across different groups.

This work sample should offer insight into your organizational skills, project management capabilities, and approach to resource allocation—key qualifications for this position. Applications without a work sample will not be considered.

Salary

The salary for this position is $92,880 - $102,880 annually. At EdReports, in determining a final salary for a position, we consider the role and the experience and skill needed while striving to maintain equity in our compensation bands. For this and other reasons, our salary offers are non-negotiable.

Physical Requirements

Work is normally performed in a remote office environment including, but not limited to standing and sitting for long periods of time; and fine-finger and hand manipulation to operate a computer and keyboard. Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing electronic information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. This person will travel by car, air, or other transportation (as indicated in the Travel section) and should be able to physically withstand the demands of such travel. Employee may be required to walk for long distances at retreat venues or other relevant sites.
