Radar Reinvented.
Echodyne offers the world’s first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points. Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
Echodyne is seeking a senior electrical engineer with experience in mixed-signal electronics to join our team working in a fast-paced environment developing high-performance commercial radar solutions.
As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in every phase of the product lifecycle (Definition, Exploration, Architecting, Design, Development, Verification, Production, and Sustainment). In each phase you will both contribute to and learn from challenging problems in circuit design related to state-of-the-art radar.
We are looking for someone to pull from their deep background in mixed signal circuit design to aid in the quick progression through the smallest assessments to the largest architecture trades for ground-breaking radars.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop analog and mixed signal circuits for commercial radars through concept, design, implementation, test, and verification
- Form design plans that capture the circuit development workflow for broad-reaching mixed signal architectures and designs spanning from power-entry to high-speed digital to user I/O to RF to SOC integration and collaborate with the team lead and other teams to refine and execute design activities
- Work in a state-of-the-art electronics lab developing tests and bringing-up first-of-kind printed circuit assemblies on efforts including troubleshooting, reworking, and identifying opportunities for design refinement
- Champion design for manufacturability, assembly and test through every stage of the design process and launch manufacturing flows for designed circuits for transition to production in cohort with the manufacturing team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or other engineering discipline
- 5+ years of research and/or industry experience in the areas of Analog/Digital printed circuit design
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Experience implementing architectures and designs for prime power-entry, protection, conditioning and distribution and designing interfaces to devices such as FPGAs, CPUs, DDR memory, ethernet transceivers and high-speed data-converters
- Proficiency in the use of schematic capture tools (Altium or similar) to design circuits that include digital, analog, power supplies, and programmable devices
- Experience with the development and execution of engineering Bring Up, Acceptance Test, and Design Verification of PCBs and an understanding of their use cases for successful delivery of PCBs to production
- Experience implementing Design-For-Test and Design-For-Manufacturability best practices for dense PCBAs and ability to implement them throughout the design process
- Experience in the lab troubleshooting and testing complex, multi subsystem designs using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and other test equipment
Echodyne’s technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant’s eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations. Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.
