Network Engineer - Fintech
Ebury São Paulo Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our platform’s network infrastructure meets the evolving needs of our customers and aligns with Ebury’s business objectives. You will collaborate closely with our platform engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain robust network solutions that support our services’ performance, scalability, and security.
Our Challenges:
Our platform team must support the rapid scaling of Ebury’s operations across multiple products and services. This involves ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of our core infrastructure and network, while also enabling product delivery teams with the tooling, frameworks and robust security practices.

You will be responsible for:
- Work within the Platform Engineering teams to guarantee the high availability and reliability of our network and platform infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain monitoring protocols, incident management, and troubleshooting procedures for network infrastructure and applications.
- Leverage observability tools to assess system performance and health, implementing necessary improvements.
- Design and automate processes and tools to enhance efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Participate in on-call rotations, responding to high-severity incidents to maintain system availability.
- Work alongside engineering teams to design a platform that is both scalable and reliable.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and services, ensuring compliance with our reliability and scalability standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and practices in Networking and Infrastructure.
Expectations:
You will have:
- Extensive experience in building large-scale networking infrastructures, including advanced knowledge of networking technologies and protocols.
- Deep knowledge of traditional data center networking, multi-cloud networking architectures, and platform patterns and technologies (such as Kubernetes and REST APIs), especially within GCP or AWS environments and their interconnections.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve root causes of issues systematically; experience working with code owners to prevent recurrence.
- Act as the escalation point for network-related issues, coordinating with relevant parties.
- Collaborate with vendors and technical staff to resolve problems, applying expertise in network security, firewall technologies, TCP/IP, and routing protocols.
- Work with cross-functional teams to conceptualise and implement network architecture projects, prioritising automation and efficiency.
- Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the security team, maintaining awareness of network changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to upholding Ebury's values.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.
- Occasional travel to Ebury locations may be required.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in fintech, neobank, or platform engineering roles in high-growth environments.
- Awareness of security and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA).
- Experience with DevOps tools, DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is integrated into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Shell Scripting or Python Software Development.
- Familiarity with FinOps (Financial Operations) principles to optimise cloud infrastructure spending while maintaining efficiency and performance.
