Dynamis is seeking a Junior Criminal Analyst to provide analytical support to the Homeland Security Investigations Visa Security Program (VSP). The VSP mission falls within the overall ICE mission to promote homeland security and public safety through the criminal and civil enforcement of federal law governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration. VSP provides integrity to the U.S. immigration system by collecting, maintaining, and analyzing information so only legitimate nonimmigrant students or exchange visitors gain entry into the United States.
The VSP unit conducts targeted, in-depth vetting of individual visa applications and applicants prior to issuance to detect, identify, and deter those who would threaten the integrity of the US visa system. The VSP’s PATRIOT Teams specialize in vetting visa applicants from regions of particular interest/concern by coordinating with select visa issuing posts. Recommendations to refuse or revoke individual visa applications are made when warranted.
Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility clearance is required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily visa applicant screening and vetting utilizing various databases, in order to support ICE Special Agents in making those recommendations.
- Perform data collection from multiple sources, to include the web, law enforcement sensitive client databases, and other resources.
- Gathers data for more senior team members, conducts database, internet, and document research, manages team databases and knowledge repositories, drafts process flow diagrams, contributes to project reports, training materials, and other deliverables.
- Provide analytical support, communications guidance, facilitation services, technical services, and functional expertise to support ongoing VSP activities.
- Support includes a variety of functions related to staff activities, the deployment to new VSP locations, and the expansion of the program.
- Utilize various databases including but not limited to, DHS databases, Department of State databases, DOD systems, and commercially available databases. The process involves an initial screening of visa applications through CCD, UPAX, ATS-P, and VSPTS. Any matches will then be further vetted using other databases.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain ICE suitability (current ICE or DHS suitability is preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of intelligence related experience
- Have an active Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility
- Fluent in one of the following foreign languages; Mandarin, Arabic, Russian.
- Also looking for ability to translate and research in Spanish, Pashtu, and French
- Strong analytical, research, and writing abilities.
- Attention to detail, often on limited timelines.
- Candidates must be well organized; team focused and possesses critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with unique DHS, DOS and open-source systems and databases.
