THE JOB / Director, Sponsorship Valuation

STRATEGY / Responsible for developing and executing investment recommendations for our clients.

** Our headquarters is located in Stamford, CT but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Los Angeles, CA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates.**

We are looking for a Director, Sponsorship Valuation to join our Strategy team. In this role, you will conduct sponsorship valuations that advise the fair market value of a proposal, renewal, or new partnership offering. You also will lead in applying and refining our methodology, while harnessing the data of a team that evaluates more than $2 billion in partnership assets each year.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Assess the fair market value of clients’ current and proposed partnerships
  • Manage database of partnership data and identify insights to the benefit of Octagon and its clients
  • Be a key contributor to multiple client initiatives that involve data-driven sponsorship and marketing recommendations
  • Assess the effectiveness of and measure the impact of current partnerships
  • Collect data on competitors and the market, and present relevant insights as actionable strategies for brands or properties
  • Drive Octagon’s sponsorship valuation methodology forward

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of proven partnership valuation experience
  • Deep understanding of the sports marketing landscape; previous agency or rights holder experience preferred
  • Experience constructing comprehensive measurement programs, primary research experience a plus
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, data visualization experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey sophisticated ideas in a straightforward way
  • Comfort driving and executing several initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience advising and mentoring team members

The base range for this position is $80,000 – 95,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
