As the Content Operations Specialist you’ll serve as a member of the Content Operations team that handles translation and content management for product teams across the company. You’ll help to create, translate and disseminate high-quality learning content for Duolingo Stories, and new learning content formats. To create the content you’ll work across multiple Duolingo functions, use contractors, and leverage our vast volunteer network. You’ll assist with hiring, training and on-boarding our contractors and volunteer network. You’ll ensure that you are helping develop content that improves how millions of people learn.
Coordinate and support content creation projects across contractors, the Duolingo Content Operations team and other Duolingo product teams as needed.
Create and manage timelines for one Duolingo product or more (e.g. content for Duolingo Stories, Duolingo Podcasts, and new learning content formats).
Source and hire contract workers providing different types of services (such as content translation, voice-over and audio editing).
Train and support contractors (and volunteers, as needed).
Execute special projects related to new initiatives.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency and quality.
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
English fluency and impeccable communication skills.
Strong technical skills. Fluent with Google docs and spreadsheets, and demonstrated ability to learn a complex system of other tools.
Ability to build trusting and productive relationships across cultural and geographic lines of difference.
Willingness to take risks, experiment, and learn from successes and failures.
Experience leading collaborative work on time-sensitive projects.
Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
The ability to work full time from our offices in Pittsburgh, PA.
Exceptional candidates will have:
Ability to identify errors in content across our most popular course languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Chinese).
1 to 3 years of project management experience leading global teams in a digital content environment with an emphasis on complex technical and translation projects involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
