About the Role
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Fixed-Income Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. As a Fixed-Income Operations SME, you will be vital in managing and optimizing our fixed-income trading operations. Your expertise in fixed-income securities, risk management, and industry regulations will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our fixed-income trading activities. The ideal candidate will deeply understand fixed-income operations, various fixed-income products, and market dynamics.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of fixed-income trading, including trade execution, settlement, and confirmation
- Develop and implement efficient procedures and controls for fixed-income operations activities to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor market conditions, interest rates, economic events, and news that may impact fixed-income trading, providing timely analysis and recommendations
- Assess and manage risks associated with fixed-income trading, including interest rate, credit, liquidity, and operational risks
- Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to mitigate potential risks
- Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure compliance with internal risk limits and regulatory requirements
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, rules, and guidelines related to fixed-income trading, including those set by regulatory bodies such as the SEC, FINRA, and other global authorities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies governing fixed-income trading activities
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on compliance matters and help implement necessary controls and processes
- Participate in audits and regulatory examinations, addressing inquiries and providing essential documentation
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance fixed-income operations processes, automation, and technology platforms
- Work closely with technology teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and new functionalities for fixed-income trading platforms
- Continuously evaluate existing workflows and propose improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance scalability in fixed-income operations
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience in fixed-income operations, preferably within a financial institution or investment firm
- Strong knowledge of fixed-income products, including government bonds, corporate bonds, municipal securities, and structured products
- Proficiency in fixed-income trading systems and platforms, such as order management systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), and risk management tools
- Familiarity with fixed-income pricing models, risk measurement techniques, and trading analytics software
- Excellent understanding of market data feeds, exchange protocols, and order routing mechanisms
- Strong analytical skills to analyze complex fixed-income positions, market data, and risk metrics
- Ability to identify and resolve operational issues, trade discrepancies, and system errors promptly with attention to detail and under pressure
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including trading, risk management, compliance, technology, and senior leadership

Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.
