Downtown Artist & Label Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Partnerships Manager. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with partners vital to Artist & Label Services. Responsibilities include assisting with new partner negotiations, managing existing relationships and compliance programs, driving new business opportunities, and resolving business issues related to partners. 

In addition to external partner management work, you will also assist internal strategic projects and analyses that support business growth under the Partnerships and Products vertical. You possess outstanding communication skills and are an adept problem solver, capable of resolving complex contractual, technical, and financial issues with partners in order to best represent Downtown clients and programs

This role is open to candidates based in Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY preferably but also willing to consider candidates in Portland, OR. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Build & maintain strong relationships with Digital Services Providers (DSPs) and other third-party services partners
  • Manage Artist & Label Services’ compliance with DSP preferred partner programs: track requirements and collaborate with the Operations, Client Services, and Product teams to implement policies, processes, and platform changes needed to meet and retain preferred partnership status at DSPs
  • Develop Partner prioritization framework: synthesize and prioritize new DSP program and feature opportunities across Marketing, Business Affairs, Product and Client Services
  • Research, analyze, present, and execute against new DSP and catalog licensing opportunities
  • Work with royalty and finance teams to track income trends across DSP partners
  • Ideate & execute against strategic business development projects involving partners, and collaborate with the wider Downtown Global Digital Licensing & Partnerships teams on initiatives to drive customer acquisition and revenue optimization

You are / have: 

  • 3+ years of work experience in the music industry in a client or partner-facing role at a label, in artist management, or within a music distribution company or DSP
  • Excellent relationship-building capability – always with a professional and confident demeanor
  • Broad knowledge of the digital landscape and consumer trends + passion for independent music and music technology
  • A solid network of industry-specific connections, including key contacts at digital music services
  • Ability to field and prioritize incoming requests, manage escalations, and bring issues to resolution
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally. You should be able to confidently analyze raw data, draw insights, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, and collaborative environment

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
