Investment Research Intern (Brazil)
Who We Are
Members of the Downing Capital Group team are investor-entrepreneurs. We are a new breed of venture capital firm: members of our team are business builders, not merely capital providers. Our unique model turns conventional VC on its head: we begin with our own business ideas, recruit management teams to execute them, and then capitalize on these ventures. The vast majority of the firm's capital will be invested in ideas incubated internally.
What You’ll Do:
As an Investment Research Intern, you will work closely with our Investment Partners to drive the firm's mission to develop and grow new portfolio companies (PortCos) by:
- Assist Downing Capital Group’s Investment Partners with the research process that fuels the creation and launch of new ventures.
- Research new markets and industries, analyze market data, and conduct outbound expert research for consulting calls.
- Support the crafting of the business strategy for innovative new startups.
- Help our PortCo CEOs with their expert network demands.
- Write reports, draft investment memos, and create presentations
Who You Are:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at a top-tier university, majoring in relevant areas such as economics, business, and engineering.
- Graduating in 2026.
- A strong writer and fluent in English.
- Bright, driven, curious, fast-paced, communicative, and passionate about working with a dynamic start-up.
- Someone with meticulous attention to detail and organization.
- Equipped with excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest in network building.
- Eager to be part of a high-performing team that values collaboration, consistent excellence, candor, and deep thoughtful analysis.
- Capable and comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Interested in building a career in the venture capital/entrepreneurial space.
